My family and I just took a wonderful trip to Disney World,
which sparked the idea for this article. In just getting back, I
thought I would point out some obvious observations!
The System:
We ended up going on a couple of rides more
than once (that will happen when you go for 6 days) and the most
amazingly unexpected thing happened. We had the same great
experience every time! Disney WORLD is just that: Its own
amazing WORLD. They have created the most amazing culture,
system and experience, making them World Famous. Even more
amazing is that all of ideas came from one man's amazing vision.
(Talk about a testimonial for The Secret. If you haven’t seen it
already, I suggest watching it and checking out Walt's Vision).
One of the biggest things that stood out to me
was the individual leadership exemplified by every singe "cast"
member we encountered. The training that goes into this place is
amazing. There were NOT "office managers" at every single ride,
just team members showing outstanding leadership on their own.
They did NOT require someone breathing over their shoulder
telling them how important safety and experience were for their
guests. They just believe and understand the vision and are dead
set on living it out!
Correlation time:
We are individual leaders everyday in
our own WORLD, creating an experience for our “guests” every day
and every moment, in every phone call, email and office visit.
Whether it’s the Doctor, the office manager, the hygienist or
the front desk person that encounters a patient, shouldn’t the
“guest” always observe the same vision, culture and experience
in your office? Why? Because you believe in what you stand for,
it's not scripted or planned out. You believe in your practice
and that shows through to each single patient experience.
Continue to make your “guests” day by following the Disney
motto: Keep Moving Forward by learning from your past but not
allowing it to hold you back. Acknowledge every opportunity as a
precious gift, always dreaming bigger and no matter what your
"role" is in this great movie, play your part with outstanding
intention and passion.
