Quotes on Empowerment
We call it infectious
impatience. That's his hallmark and we are trying to
inculcate it in the entire organization. Infectious
impatience. So that things not only get done but get done in
double quick time.
----Mukesh Ambani
Genius
is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Accordingly a genius
is often merely a talented person who has done all of his or
her homework.
---Thomas Edison
If a working class Englishman
saw a bloke drive past in a Rolls-Royce, he'd say to himself
"Come the social revolution and we'll take that away from
you, mate". Whereas if his American counterpart saw a bloke
drive past in a Cadillac he'd say "One day I'm going to own
one of those". To my way of thinking the first attitude is
wrong. The latter is right.
---Kerry Packer
We are all in the gutter, but
some of us are looking at the stars.
---Oscar Wilde
If you don't have integrity, you
have nothing. You can't buy it. You can have all the money
in the world, but if you are not a moral and ethical person,
you really have nothing.
---Henry Kravis
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they
fight you, then you win.
---Mahatma Gandhi

Dear Eagles,
I am writing this
from the road. We are in beautiful Louisville, KY.
Home of the
Kentucky Derby and the
Louisville Slugger! I am leading a private
Dental Boot Kamp, with 44 practices and over 200
participants.
Advanced
Implant & Perio Center (Dr. Robert Schroering
DMD and Dr. Kenneth Parrish DMD, PhD.) limit their
practice to Implant dentistry. They sponsored the
Dental Boot Kamp for their referral practices out of
their committment to empower their partners to practice
the dentistry of their dreams!
We are haveing a
fabulous time.
Lots of participation, fun, excitement and
redescovering the joy of being in dentistry for the
difference it makes in the lives of their patients. I
am always so proud to be part of a practice being
re-energized, and nothing energizes committed people
like seeing how to be successful making a difference!
Earlier this month
we had our 1st ever Speaking Skills Summit in Austin
TX. The committment of the course is is to empower
people to begin to do public speaking in their home
town, or "being famous in your own home town". Lynne
Marks of
London Image Institute and I worked with the 20
participants on their presentation skills and the
response was amazing! What an outstanding group of
people! Most of the 2 days was spent giving talks and
being coached by Lynn and myself, and the difference
from one day to the next was nothing short of
remarkable.
The response was
overwhelmingly positive, (here some audio testimonials
HERE)
and we have scheduled a
2nd course for June 5th and
6th in Austin, TX. If you are interested
contact us early.
Since we work
with each person (the course is coaching, very little
lecture) we must limit participation to 20 people.
We have been so
busy this newsletter is going out late! It is already
beginning to look like spring in Texas, and I expect a
great bluebonnett season.
Well, back to the
course. Give us a call if we can support you in any
way!

Hailey’s
7 Leadership Lessons
Lesson #6:
Be a Servant Leader and Show How Much You Care. Ask: How Can I
Help You with Your Assignment?
When
was the last time your boss asked you:
What can I do to help you? It’s not a
question most of us have ever heard coming from our
bosses. Most bosses lead like Dilbert’s boss, in the cartoon,
Dilbert. The boss gives the orders and Dilbert follows
obediently questioning the directive every step of the way.
Servant leaders are different. Hailey’s 6th
leadership lesson guides us to be servant leaders.

HOW MANY TIMES
SHOULD I…?
On answering the
question of advertising and how long does it take to work…Create
a sensible plan than stick with it until it proves itself to
you. How long might that take? Three months if you’re lucky.
Probably six months, possibly as long as a year. But you will
never ever know whether the plan is working within the first 60
days.
Commitment is directly
related to time. The longer you live by a plan, the deeper your
sense of commitment.
Think of swimming to a
distant beach. If your boat sinks in the ocean and you start
swimming to shore, you shouldn’t give up if you don’t hit the
beach within one hour – or even five hours. To survive, you’ve
got to be committed to swimming to that beach. Think of this
when you consider altering your marketing plans after a short
time. Lest you misunderstand, think about the following list
each time you run an ad and get a response that doesn’t meet
your expectations.
-
The first time a man
looks at an ad, he doesn’t see it
-
The second time he
doesn’t notice it
-
The third time, he is
conscious of its existence
-
The fourth time, he
faintly remembers having seen it
-
The fifth time, he
reads the ad
-
The sixth time, he
turns up his nose at it
-
The seventh time, he
reads it through and says , O brother!
-
The eighth time, he
says ”There’s that confounded thing again”
-
The ninth time, he
wonders if it amounts to anything
-
The tenth time, he will
ask his neighbor if he has tried it
-
The eleventh time, he
wonders how the advertiser makes it pay
-
The twelfth time he
thinks it must be a good thing
-
The thirteenth time, he
thinks it might be worth something
-
The fourteenth time, he
remembers that he wanted such a thing for a long time
-
The fifteenth time, he
is tantalized because he cannot afford to buy it
-
The sixteenth time, he
thinks he will buy it someday
-
The seventeenth time,
he makes a memorandum of it
-
The eighteenth time, he
swears at his poverty
-
The nineteenth time, he
counts his money carefully
-
The twentieth time he
sees the ad, he buys the article or instructs his wife to do
so.
The above was written
by one Thomas Smith in London back in 1885 – and it still rings
true in today’s marketing world.
